Settings
The settings section is where you make Salonnare truly yours. From your salon name and opening hours to payment providers and feature toggles -- everything is controlled here. Only admins have access to settings.
Salon Details
Start by making sure your salon information is correct:
- Go to Settings in the sidebar.
- Under General, fill in or update:
- Salon name, address, city, and postcode.
- Your website URL.
- VAT number (if applicable).
- Social media links (Facebook, Instagram).
- Currency and timezone.
- Language preference.
- Upload your salon logo (accepts JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, or WebP, up to 5MB).
This information appears on your online booking page, in emails, and on receipts.
Opening Hours
Set your regular opening hours so the booking system knows when clients can book:
- Go to Settings > Calendar.
- Set your opening and closing time for each day of the week.
- Mark days you are closed by leaving them empty.
Holidays and Closures
Going on vacation or closing for a holiday?
- In Settings > Calendar, find the Holiday closures section.
- Add the dates you will be closed.
Clients will not be able to book appointments on those dates. If someone tries, they will see a message that the salon is closed.
Special Hours
Need to open earlier or close later on a specific date?
Use the date-specific overrides in the calendar settings to set different hours for individual days without changing your regular schedule.
Email Settings
Salonnare sends automatic emails for booking confirmations, reminders, receipts, and campaigns. For these to work, your email needs to be configured:
- Go to Settings > SMTP / Email.
- Fill in your email server details:
- Server address and port.
- Your email username and password.
- The sender email address (what clients see as the "from" address).
- Click Test email to verify everything works.
Payment Providers
Connect your payment hardware and online payment services:
- Go to Settings > Integrations.
You can set up:
- SumUp -- For card payments at the counter.
- Mollie -- For online payments.
- Stripe -- For online payments and automatic no-show fee collection.
Each provider has its own setup section where you enter the credentials from your payment provider account. You can use multiple providers at the same time.
Other Integrations
Beyond payments, you can connect:
- Google Calendar -- Two-way sync for appointments. See the Google Calendar article for details.
- WhatsApp -- Send automated messages via the WhatsApp Business service.
Staff Accounts
Manage who has access to your salon system:
- Go to Settings > Accounts.
- Click Add staff member to create a new account.
- Set their role:
- Admin -- Full access to everything, including settings.
- Staff -- Can manage appointments and use the register, but cannot change settings.
- The new team member receives a welcome email with a temporary password.
You can also reset passwords and remove staff members from this section.
Feature Toggles
Salonnare has several optional features that you can turn on or off depending on what your salon needs. Go to Settings > Feature Toggles to manage them.
Some highlights:
- Loyalty programme -- Let clients earn and redeem points.
- Gift card QR codes -- Add scannable codes to gift card emails.
- Purchase orders and internal consumption -- Advanced inventory management.
- Daily revenue goal -- Show a target on your dashboard.
- Revenue forecast -- Predict income based on upcoming bookings.
- Email campaigns -- Send marketing emails to your clients.
- Waitlist position -- Let clients see their place in the queue.
Changes take effect right away -- no restart needed.
No-Show Fees
If you want to charge clients who miss their appointment without cancelling:
- Go to Settings > No-Show Fees.
- Turn on the feature (requires Stripe to be set up).
- Choose the fee type: a percentage of the service price, or a fixed amount.
- Set the fee value and optionally a minimum amount.
When you mark a booking as a no-show, Salonnare automatically sends the client a payment link for the fee.
Calendar Display
Customise how your appointment calendar looks:
- Go to Settings > Calendar.
- Adjust the slot size (how many minutes each row represents).
- Set a buffer time between appointments if you need preparation time.
- Choose a colour mode for visual clarity.
