Google Calendar Sync

Connect Salonnare to Google Calendar to see all your appointments in one place.

Google Calendar Sync

If you or your team already use Google Calendar, you can connect it to Salonnare. Your salon appointments will show up right in your Google Calendar alongside your personal events -- and any events you create in Google Calendar will block off time in Salonnare so clients cannot double-book you.

Connecting Google Calendar

  1. Go to Settings in the sidebar.
  2. Open Integrations > Google Calendar.
  3. Click Connect Google Calendar.
  4. Sign in to your Google account and give Salonnare permission to access your calendar.
  5. Choose which calendar to sync with -- you can use your personal calendar or create a dedicated "Salon" calendar.
  6. Click Save.

The connection status will show Connected and you are good to go.

Each staff member can connect their own Google Calendar from their profile settings. This way, everyone's personal calendar stays in sync with their salon schedule.

How the Sync Works

The sync works in both directions:

From Salonnare to Google Calendar: When you create, edit, or cancel an appointment in Salonnare, the change is automatically pushed to Google Calendar. New appointments appear, edited ones are updated, and cancelled ones are removed.

From Google Calendar to Salonnare: When you add an event in Google Calendar (like a dentist appointment or a meeting), that time slot is automatically blocked in Salonnare. Clients will not be able to book into that slot when using the online booking page.

Good to know: events from Google Calendar appear as blocked time in Salonnare, not as salon appointments. They will not show up in your booking list or reports.

Which Appointments Sync?

  • Scheduled and completed appointments are synced to Google Calendar.
  • Provisional appointments (booking requests) are also synced so you can see them coming.
  • Cancelled appointments are removed from Google Calendar.
  • No-show appointments stay in Google Calendar to preserve the record.

Disconnecting Google Calendar

If you no longer want the sync:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Google Calendar.
  2. Click Disconnect.

Any appointments that were already synced to Google Calendar will remain there -- they are not deleted. You would need to remove them manually in Google Calendar if you want them gone.

Troubleshooting

My appointments are not showing up in Google Calendar

  • Check that the connection status shows Connected in Settings.
  • Make sure you selected the correct calendar during setup.
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting.

Blocked slots from Google Calendar are not appearing in Salonnare

  • Make sure the Google account you connected has edit access to the calendar.
  • Events marked as "Free" in Google Calendar are not imported as blocks -- only events marked as "Busy" are treated as blocked time.

The sync stopped working after a few weeks

  • Google access sometimes expires. Go to Settings > Integrations > Google Calendar and click Reconnect to refresh the connection.
If you change your Google password or revoke app permissions in your Google account settings, the connection will break. Simply reconnect in Salonnare to fix it.
